Week 4 Barclay's Premier League

News
Manchester United is still in first place with 60 overall points.  
Arsenal is close behind with 56 points. 
Manchester City is currently in third with 50 points.
Tottenham is in forth with 47 points.
Chelsea is trailing behind  in fifth place with 45 points.


Highlights
Liverpool's lost against West Ham United  might keep the team out of  the Champion's league.  Scott  Parker, Demba Ba, and Carlton Cole  each scored a goal against Liverpool.

Wolverhampton Wanders took themselves out of the bottom three with a  win over Blackpool.  Campell and Stearman bumped against each other while fighting for ball possession. Campell shoved Stearman in the face and earned Blackpool a red card

Jermaine Beckford led Everton  to a 2 goal victory against Sunderland. Three weeks ago Louis Saha scored 4 goals against Sunderland but could not play this week due to a hamstring injury.

Week 3 of Barclay's Premier League and Beginning of Champions League

News
Aduriz will be out of action for four weeks due to an ankle injury. Valencia will have to step up there momentum loosing one of their best strikers.

Chelsea is currently in fifth place after Mondays performance. Chelsea player, Lampard said, "I hate putting one above the other but having won three Premier League titles, the Champions League is the one to win." He expects too see a good season from his team.

Manchester has earned 14 points out of a possible 18 points.  The team's confidence level is extremely high and they expect to reach the Champion League quarter-finals with no problem.

Newcastle United suffered 3 yellow cards against Birmingham City, who only earned 1 yellow card.

Second Week of Soccer in Feburary 2011

Plenty of upsets in this week of soccer from the Barclay's Premier League.

News
Manchester United is still at the top of the leader-board with 57 overall points.  Arsenal is in second place with 53 points.  And Manchester City is in third place with 49 overall points.

Liverpool's 5 game winning streak was cut short with a game finish of 1 to 1, against Wigan Athletic.

Highlights
With only 12 minutes left in the match, Rooney brought Manchester United in the lead against Manchester City with an over head goal kick.  This goal brought the ending score of 2 to 1.
Van Persie struck the first goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the first 16 minutes of the match.  He managed to connect with the ball from a horizontal position. Tempo began to slow down after Van Persie and Walcott executed a two on one play against Berra, leaving Van Persie with his second goal of the match. 

The match between Aston Villa and Blackpool was no shy of penalties. Makoun received a red card and yound earned a yellow card for Aston Villa. Baptiste and Evatt both earned yellow cards for Blackpool. The final score was 1 to 1.

First Week of soccer in Feburary 2011


Another Exciting week of soccer from the Barclay's Premier League. A good way to start the month of February.

News
Chelsea bought Fernando Torres from Liverpool for 95 million Euro. By being traded to Chelsea, Torres will earn 175,000 Euro a week for 5 years. 

Highlights
Even with Manchester United’s lost to Wolverhampton, the team is still in first on the leaderboard with 54 overall points.  Second in the lead is Arsenal with 50 overall points; followed by Manchester City with 44 points and Chelsea with forty-four points.

Carlos Tevez scored 2 goals in the first 45 minutes of the game. One goal set up by David Silva and another by penalty shot.

Van Persy’s goal for Arsenal created a huge amount over momentum for the team.  Vabrigas ended the half with a second goal over Chelsea.

Wolverhamptom’s strikers were able to outwit Manchester United’s defense with 2 goals. Nikola Zigic headed in a cross kick from Sebastian Larsson.
