Week 10 of Barclay's Premier League

News
Manchester United has added to their lead bringing it to 69 points
Arsenal has added three additional points bringing their total to 62

Chelsea has moved up to third place with 58 points
Manchester City has moved down to forth with 56 points
Tottenham has earned three more points bringing their total to 53
Liverpool is still in sixth place with 45 points


Highlights
Malouda was the solo scorer for Chelsea in their match against Wigan Athletic on Saturday 9, 2011.  His goal with only 23 minutes remaining brought his team up the leader board to third place.  Manchester City unfortunately was moved down to forth place.

Michael Carrick and Mark Giggs were the main players that took the victory against Chelsea in the first quarter-final leg of the Champions League.  Manchester United's victory has proven they are the team to beat this year. 

Liverpool's bad play could be due to their captain being injured. Steven Gerrard has recently undergone surgery on his groin and will most likely be out of play for the rest of the season.  This includes the Champions League.

All previous games in the Barclay's Premier League were leading up the Champions League.  The top six point leaders will have the opportunity to qualify for the Champions League.

Week 9 of Barclay's Premier League

News 
Manchester United has earned 3 additional points bringing their lead to 66
Arsenal has added 1 more points bringing their total to 59
Manchester City has moved up to third place with 56 points
Chelsea has stepped down to forth with 55 points
Tottenham is holding strong in fifth place with 50 points
Liverpool is still in the race with 45 points


Highlights
Tottenham has lost an important player due to a knee injury.  Alan Hutton tore the cartilage in his knee on Thursday.  There is speculation he won't be able to play for the rest of the season. 
There were more than 49,000 people in attendance at St. James Park to watch Newcastle United vs. Wolverhamton Wanders.  Both teams earned several yellow cards (fouls).  The scorers for Newcastle were Nolan, Ameobi, Lovenkrands, Gutierrez. And the solo scorer for Wolverhamton was Ebanks-Blake.
"I think we played very well. It was a very difficult game but we started fantastically. I think all the players played very well, and pressed from the first minute. Mario (Balotelli) and Carlos (Tevez) worked when we lost the ball which was very important. In the last 25 days we played every three days which was the problem. Bobby Zumora has been out of play this season due to injury.  The 30-year-old player has recovered and showed his skills against Blackpool on Sunday by scoring 2 goals for his team.  This is Fulhams fifth home win in six matches.
There were more than 60,000 people in attendance at Emirates Stadium to watch Arsenal vs. Blackburn Rovers. Both teams suffered from a yellow card.  However, Rovers player, Steven Nzonzi earned his team a red card (kicked out of the game). Both teams were unable to score a goal.
Liverpool couldn't manage to acquire the momentum needed to beat West Bromwich Albion.  Six minutes into the match Glen Johnson pulled a hampstring and was replaced by Sotirios Kyrgiako.  Later in the match the club suffered from yet another injury.  This time is was Agger.  He was replaced by Danny Wilson after hobbling off the pitch.

Week 8 of Barclay's Premier League

News
Manchester United is still at the top of the leader-board with 63 overall points
Arsenal is currently in second place with 58 points
Chelsea has moved up to third place with a total to 54 points
Manchester City has stepped down to forth place with 53 points
Tottenham is still in fifth place with 49 points
Liverpool is still in sixth place with 45 points


Highlights
The Premier League is traveling around on a tour promoting the new championship trophy and more than 5,000 people were in attendance at Abu Dhabi. Learn more.


Manchester United's coach, Sir Alex Ferguson, will recall his loanees this summer in hope of gaining an advantage over his opponents.  They include Danny Welbeck, Tom Clevery and Federico Macheda. "They will come back into the first squad and they will get plenty of games next season" - Sir Alex Ferguson


Kevin Doyle suffered a severe  knees injury and could possibly be out of commission for the rest of the season. Wolvenhampton Wanders is missing an important player and it will be exciting to see if they can bounce back as a team.


Lucas Piazon, a Brazilian teenager has recently been signed to Chelsea. However, he will not arrive in Stamford Bridge until 9 months from now. 


Manchester United is pleased to hear that Danny Welbeck plans on playing for the club in the near future.  Welbeck has been a terrific asset to Sunderland this present season.

Week 7 of Barclays Premier League

News
Manchester United has gained three points bringing their total to 63.
Arsenal is holding strong in second place with 58 points.
Manchester City is still in third with 53 overall points.
Chelsea is still holding strong in fourth with 51 points.
Tottenham has added one more point bringing thier totatl to 49.
Liverpool is still in the race in sixth place with 45 points.

Highlights
The Stadium of Lights sold out during the match of Sunderland vs. Liverpool with with 47,207 people in attendance. Luis Suarez, a striker for Liverpool, scored a goal with 13 minutes remaining in the match to win. Mensah, player for Sunderland was given a red card (exjected from the game), for slamming into Suarez with only nine minutes left in the match. The ending score was Liverpool 2, Sunderland 0.


Everton beat Fulham 2-1 on March 19, in Goodison Park.  Dempsey  managed to score a goal for Fulham but it was not enough to stop Everton from winning the match.  Saha was tapped a free kick and struck it low through a defensive wall to give his team the victory.


Arsenal could only add one points to their total score after a match against West Bromwich Albion.  Arsenal came back to tie the match after being down by two goals. The team also suffered three yellow cards trying to do so.  Albion on the other hand only suffered one yellow card (foul, allowed two before being ejected from the match). The ending score was 2-2.


There were more than 75 thousand people in attendace at Old Trafford stadium to witness Manchester United vs.Bolton Wanderers.  Manchester United secured the victory, with the help of Bervatov's goal.  Evans was kicked out of the match because of a red card. This win has added three more points to Man Chest's score, keeping them way ahead in the leader board.

Week 6 of Barclay's Premier League

News
Manchester is still holding onto the lead with 60 overall points.
Arsenal  earned another point making their total 57 keeping them in second.
Manchester City has earned three more points in the last two weeks bringing their total to 53 points.
Chelsea has moved up the ladder to forth place by earning six additional points bringing their total to 51.
Tottenham moved down to fifth place with a total of 48 points.

Highlights
During the game of Arsenal vs. Sunderland, both teams earned three yellow cards (fouls).  Neither team could manage a goal and the ending score was 
 0-0.  Their were 60,081 in attendance at Emirates Stadium.

Manchester United has yet to win in the last four matches since their $50 million euro purchase of Fernando Torres from Liverpool.  "It's important to understand the style of football your team is playing, how you are involved in the system and everything," Torres said.  "This always takes some time. But, I think, once you get it, everything becomes much easier. The important thing is to have different options in the way you play."

Week 4 Barclay's Premier League

News
Manchester United is still in first place with 60 overall points.  
Arsenal is close behind with 56 points. 
Manchester City is currently in third with 50 points.
Tottenham is in forth with 47 points.
Chelsea is trailing behind  in fifth place with 45 points.


Highlights
Liverpool's lost against West Ham United  might keep the team out of  the Champion's league.  Scott  Parker, Demba Ba, and Carlton Cole  each scored a goal against Liverpool.

Wolverhampton Wanders took themselves out of the bottom three with a  win over Blackpool.  Campell and Stearman bumped against each other while fighting for ball possession. Campell shoved Stearman in the face and earned Blackpool a red card

Jermaine Beckford led Everton  to a 2 goal victory against Sunderland. Three weeks ago Louis Saha scored 4 goals against Sunderland but could not play this week due to a hamstring injury.

Week 3 of Barclay's Premier League and Beginning of Champions League

News
Aduriz will be out of action for four weeks due to an ankle injury. Valencia will have to step up there momentum loosing one of their best strikers.

Chelsea is currently in fifth place after Mondays performance. Chelsea player, Lampard said, "I hate putting one above the other but having won three Premier League titles, the Champions League is the one to win." He expects too see a good season from his team.

Manchester has earned 14 points out of a possible 18 points.  The team's confidence level is extremely high and they expect to reach the Champion League quarter-finals with no problem.

Newcastle United suffered 3 yellow cards against Birmingham City, who only earned 1 yellow card.
